New Stream Manipulation Policy
Apple has introduced a new policy in response to stream manipulation (i.e. the artificial inflation of stream counts) on Apple Music.
The policy introduces a financial adjustment system penalising artists who deliver content that hits certain stream manipulation thresholds. Please note that any streams that Apple identifies as resulting from artificial activity/manipulation (“Artificial Streams”) are already removed from royalty reporting and therefore do not generate any royalty payment in any event.
